Since there's trend and need of blowing away the dust from stalled projects in New York City, here's another skyscraper that could start rising in very near future. Tower Verre, designed by famous Jean Nouvel is part of new MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) extension. With its unique and interesting design it will be quite nice addition to the Midtown skyline.

Some even dare to call it tower of the decade among all other proposed and proved new skyscrapers. Tower Verre was first proposed back in 2007. It was supposed to be one of the tallest buildings in the city with 381m (1,250ft) and 85 floors.

But then problems started. First, the city council with Amanda Burden said, a-a, this won't work. The skyscraper was too tall. Precisely, the crown on top of the tower was in sight to Empire State Building visitors. As a compromise solution, Tower Verre lost its 200ft (61m) on the top.

Okay, but then global crisis came and knocked down the project again. No money, no tower. But recently things started to getting better. Developer Hines took over the project and apparently there is heavy machinery starting to arrive on the site. Now we are waiting impatiently for more info from the site.

Here are renderings and drawings of new, current Tower Verre, 320m (1,050ft) tall with 78 floors.
